The IKEA Lack TableIkea Lack side Table

Ah, the Lack table. Probably the simplest product in IKEA’s range. A flat-top and four posts for legs. Just €11 in IKEA Dublin’s store

But look online and the simple Lack is one of the most hacked products out there, transforming a cheap side table into all manner of things.


 

Striking Colours

A little bit of metallic spray paint in the colour of your choice…

Outdoor Living

What looks like clay or cement for an weather-proof outdoor table…

Marbling

Clever paintwork to make it look like it has a real marble top…

Timber Top

Or a timber-effect top with these self-adhesive vinyl floorboards

Cushions and Sparkles

Or add upholstery and sparkly buttons to make a comfy ottoman bench.

Finally, rather thinking outside the box… but this hacker turned a Lack table into a hampster cage. Certainly unique and you can follow how they did it here… 

Remarkably, that last one is an Irish IKEA hacker. We should have known!
